If you're a tradie who loves nothing more than getting piped after dropping tools for the day, then this is the event for you. Come along bring your surfboard, boog, hand plane, all crafts welcome!

Join 150 of the state’s best tradies and frothiest surfers swinging hammers, throwing buckets and building the future at this exclusive Surfer’s For Climate event presented by the legends at Volcom, hosted by URBNSurf Sydney, with infamous party planners TRACKS bringing in the Goons of Doom, supported by The Punk Rock Hillbilly. The icing on the cake? Ain't That Swell hosting the day and delivering a live podcast for you to enjoy. Ya Keeding?!

Bring your mates, or join a team to go head to head in crowning the ultimate surf tradie. The day will feature surf heats in the pool and tradie challenges in the Trade Up-lympics ending with some epic live music and ice-cold beers.

Thousands of dollars' worth of prizes up for grabs, plus a goodie bag for all attendees that will blow minds, it’s the perfect way to wrap up the year.

60 minutes of pool time with ya crew

That's right - every surfer ticket holder gets 60 minutes of pool time to shred! Your individual score will add to you teams overall success. Top male and female performances take the glory - so get training!

Ain't that swell podcast live

We're stoked to have the Ain't That Swell Podcast crew of Jed Smith and Vaughan Blakey with us for a live edition of the podcast. You know what they're all about. It's gonna be massive and full of laughs. They're also going to host a special Salty Brains Trivia during the day as part of the competition format. You're keeeeding?!

Tracks Party

To wrap up the day with a frothy head bang, the infamous party planners, Tracks, are bringing you live music by Goons of Doom, supported by The Punk Rock Hillbilly. Get ready to celebrate your team's victory or dance off your loosing blues, promising an unforgettable way to cap off the night.

Teams

Join as an individual; your scores reflect your individual effort but contribute to your team. Rally your colleagues, gather your mates, and form a powerhouse team with as many members as you desire.

Start & Finish Time

The Trade Up Cup kicks off with the opening ceremony at 12:00 pm sharp. We recommend arriving by 11:45 am to ensure you're settled in time. The official party wraps up at 10:00 pm, but the bar is licensed until 1:00 am and will stay open if there is demand.

Parking

There’s 2 hours of free parking available, but it gets quite expensive after that. Be sure to validate your parking ticket at URBNSURF or Applejack. Since this is an all-day event, we recommend using Uber or other rideshare services for convenience.

Children

This event may not be suitable for children.

Refund Policy

No refunds. Tickets can be swapped, please update the name on the ticket to the new attendee.

1. Warm Up Surf Sessions Available
We have secured first preference for surf sessions on November 28th, from 10:00-11:00 am and 11:00 am-12:00 pm. If you're interested in purchasing a warm up session, you can book through Sam Jones, URBNSURF Events Coordinator, at sam@urbnsurfsydney.com.

2. Learn to Surf – Beginner's Packages
Cost: From $104
Learn to surf and get stoked!
This 1 hour 45 minute session will run from approximately 2:30 pm to 4:15 pm. It includes:

  • Board and wetsuit hire
  • A 30-minute briefing, land practice, and warm-up
  • 1 hour of surfing in The Bays under the guidance of an expert coach
  • 15 minutes to cool down and recap
