What do we mean by a ‘take-off’ into action?
To successfully ride a wave, surfers will search for the best take-off point in relation to their abilities. If the take off is too steep, they wipe out. If it is too easy, well, where’s the fun in that? When surfers take-off at the right place for their abilities at the right time for the wave and how it is breaking, they are in the sweet spot for the ride of their lives.
The ‘take-off points’ we have developed and tested have already resulted in more surfers having conversations about climate in their
communities and leading to greater engagement in the political process. With our series of proven events and activities we are now keen to deliver these in more coastal areas on a national scale.
