We’re rolling out the screen in car parks, pubs, and everywhere in between, up and down the coast, combining films, food, live music, and climate conversations in one stoke-filled evening.

At every Car Park Cinema, we screen movies that highlight the impacts of climate change, showcase real-world solutions, and inspire people to take action. Because while others get stuck in doom and gloom, we’re out here making change happen, and having a good time doing it.

These events are about more than just watching a film. They’re about connection, coming together, sharing stories, and seeing how our shared passion for the sea can grow a real movement.

We pair each screening with panel discussions featuring climate experts, local legends, and changemakers, turning wherever we are into a platform for meaningful connection and learning.

Surfers for Climate Original Films

Our original films shine a light on the salty legends, innovators, and ocean lovers making waves for the planet. From surfboard shapers rethinking how boards are built to last longer and tread lighter, to lifelong waterwomen turning their connection with the sea into a mission for climate action, these stories show what happens when creativity meets care for the coast.

Each film dives into real people doing good things for the ocean, whether it’s exploring ancient coastal wisdom, tackling environmental challenges, or celebrating those protecting the places we love most. Think of them as our way of showing that the surf community doesn’t just ride waves, we help shape a better future for them too.

We acknowledge the True Locals, the First Nations people who have been custodians of land, waters and culture for tens of thousands of years. We pay respects to First Nations Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise that Indigenous peoples are on the front line of climate impacts, and must play a critical role in shaping climate solutions. This website was created on Gadigal land in Australia, where sovereignty was never ceded.
